Birthday Weekend

Bug's birthday party this past Saturday is finally over! Can't believe the stress in preparing for such a small thing. I've had less stress putting together conferences for hundreds of people (previous career). Bug's party was a fairy-tale theme and most of the girls wore princess and/or fairy outfits. One dressed as Little Red Rdiging Hood and her sister dressed as Rapunzel (with a very long braid of hair). The girls (and one rambunctious boy that Bug has a crush on) decorated magic wands and wizard hats (the wands were foot long wooden dowels with wooden star shapes glued on the top and spray-painted silver; the hats were metallic-colored birthday hats). We played Frog, Frog, Fairy (like duck, duck, goose), Wizard Says (like Simon Says), ate a beautiful castle cake, opened presents, and played more games. A prepared all of the food (she's so awesome!) and L of B&L and another friend helped with the activities as well as entertain with little mini-activities while I cleaned up or prepared for something else. It was soooo much fun, but once may be enough. Next year, Bug can go back to Chuck E. Cheese!

Sunday we went to my folks place and had a joint celebration for Bug and my brother (whose actual birthday was that day). Monday night, A and I were invited to Bug's grandma's house (S's mom) for dinner. It was mostly pleasant and S's boyfriend wasn't there (yay!). So all in all, a very good birthday weekend. I can't believe my little girl is 6! And my good college buddy TLR has yet to meet her. What's up with that? Yo TLR, time to stop by the house.


Oh yea, and we played Pin-the-Tail on the Unicorn at the party (A made it!).
