Santa Claus by Me

So this past Sunday I had the honor of being Santa Claus for an event held at the Children's Medical Center in Hartford CT. I was even accompanied by my very own elf! A came with me and had pointy ears! The kids kept asking her if they were real.
I bought an inexpensive beard and wig set (lucked out at the price) but only used the wig (nice and long). The beard I used from another Santa set because I could not find the really good type I was looking for. In fact, I would suggest to never shop at Connecticut Stage & Movie Supply in Plainville, CT. When I went there to look for a good beard, I had the rudest most condescending sales person I ever spoke with. I'm still a little ticked about it. I almost wrote them to complain but I have a feeling this B* is one of the owners. I did end up buying a "belly" from them though (it's like a big vest with a large pocket that you put stuffing in).
When I walked into the room and gave my loudest and jolliest Ho-Ho-Ho, the kids screamed, smiled, and jumped for joy. Six or seven of them ran straight to me to say hi and hold my hands. I kneeled down to talk to them and two of the little darlings threw themselves into my arms to give me a hug, followed by two more shortly after. It was a great time, a magical time. I'll never, ever forget it. And more than likely, if the sponsors offer again, I will be Santa Claus next year as well.
Enjoy the pix! I'll see if I can get one of my elf as well : -)
